We live in a nation of immigrants. Harry believes America is the land of opportunity, and that everyone should be treated with dignity and respect. Despite this, Donald Trump treats immigration like an invasion. In today’s politics, it’s pitiful that simple statements like these are seen as radical and partisan. Immigration isn’t just core to America’s identity, it’s the right thing to do and it makes sense economically. That’s why, in Congress, Harry will stand up for all immigrants by:
- Oppose efforts to expand ICE detention centers across Maryland.
- Support a comprehensive overhaul of DHS’s current enforcement programs and abolish the current ICE system.
- Ensure there is meaningful oversight and accountability for anyone that has illegally held or harmed U.S. citizens under the presumed authority of ICE.
- Create a path to citizenship and legalization for undocumented immigrants and their families, by passing the DREAM ACT.
- Reform the visa process and increase the number of visas allocated and ensure our process is robust and fair for all immigrants.
