While Donald Trump has focused on weaponizing our law enforcement, as a former U.S. Capitol Police officer, Harry dedicated most of his life to public service, sworn to protect rather than oppress. He understands we need to not only fund our law enforcement, but also solve the systemic problems within the policing system for it to be effective. In Congress, Harry will: 

• Champion and support the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act, which will increase accountability for law enforcement misconduct. 
• Introduce legislation to address the root cause of crime: poverty and lack of opportunity, in underprivileged communities. 
• Invest in community-based training for police officers on the front lines so that they can uphold their oath of service.
• Work with local community partners to improve the criminal justice system by making sure judges can hand out rulings that provide justice and deterrence.
